Direct from London's West End, Thriller Live celebrates the musical life of the King of Pop at Belgrade Theatre Coventry.
Audiences lapped up the two and half hours of Michael Jackson’s non-stop hits. Fast-paced and energetic, the talented cast delivered hit after hit from pop to rock and soul to disco. The team of lead vocalists flawlessly sang hits covering 45 years of music, from the Jackson 5 years to his solo albums Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous. Their voices complemented each other well, with an undisputed chemistry between them all. A live band plays throughout, with particular moments that allow for their talent to shine, a highlight being when the guitarists perform on the main stage. Hits included I Want You Back, I'll Be There, Can You Feel It, Rock With You, Blame It On The Boogie, Billie Jean, Earth Song, and many more. A celebration of ‘the world's greatest performer' would not be complete without some moonwalking, and the slick, well-choreographed dance moves were delivered with confidence, passion and accuracy leaving the audiences wowed and cheering. The set was somewhat limited, primarily using projections, and these were utilised more effectively in certain numbers. With excellent costumes that complemented the individual songs, the atmosphere was joyous, and the cast easily had the audience up dancing on their feet. Thriller runs at Belgrade Theatre Coventry until Saturday 10 March. Comments are closed.
