Hot on the heels of the Eurovision Song Contest, the Belgrade Theatre will be welcoming a jam-packed June programme of musical entertainment featuring top names from the world of pop, swing, soul and rock.
Kicking things off is multi award-winning vocalist Claire Martin OBE and legendary saxophonist Ray Gelato come together for an unforgettable night of hits from the great American song book in A Swingin’ Affair on Wednesday 3 June. Featuring special guests The David Newton Trio, this sophisticated celebration of all things swing features such classic hits as Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off, They All Laughed and Can’t We Be Friends.
Putting the ‘fizz’ back into your Thursday, Eurovision royalty comes to Coventry this Spring as we welcome 80s pop-icons Cheryl, Mike & Jay formerly of Bucks Fizz on Thursday 4 June. Featuring non-stop hits from the group’s multi-million selling back catalogue including the 1981 Eurovision winner Making Your Mind Up, this show is a must-see for any 80s enthusiast.
This will be followed by a visit from the King of Pop – The Legend Continues on Friday 5 June in a brand new show starring No. 1 Michael Jackson impersonator, Navi, the only tribute act to be personally recommended by Michael himself.
Celebrating the sounds of Sweden’s original ‘fab four’, it’s time to dig out those platforms and don the flares for the return of Abba Mania on Saturday 6 June. Celebrating 40 years since ABBA’s legendary Eurovision win, this all-singing, all-dancing concert experience features all your favourite hits from the bands’ unforgettable repertoire including Mamma Mia, Voulez Vous, Dancing Queen, Winner Takes It All, Super Trouper and many more.
Experience the legendary music of Pink Floyd performed with empathy and passion in Darkside, touring to the Belgrade on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June. Drawing from over 30 years of era-defining hits, this stunning live concert show promises to transport audiences on a fascinating journey through music, from the early days of Syd Barrett to the dream-like sophistication of Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and Division Bell.
Stepping back in time to the swinging 60s, Kast Off Kinks bring the iconic sound of British rock to the stage in an authentic recreation of the band’s greatest hits on Tuesday 23 June. Featuring a stellar line-up of former band members including Mick Avory (the original drummer from 1964-1984), John Dalton, Ian Gibbons, Dave Clarke, Noel Redding and Tim Rose, fans can look forward to authentic renditions of classic hits includingYou Really Got Me, Dedicated Follower Of Fashion, Sunny Afternoon, Waterloo Sunset and more.
For fans of classic soul, all-American female vocal group The Three Degrees bring their stunning concert show to Coventry on Wednesday 24 June featuring original band members Helen Scott and Valerie Holiday plus special guest Freddie Pool.
From the bright lights of Philadelphia to the smoky concert halls of Memphis, Tennessee, The Johnny Cash Roadshow brings the authentic sound of America’s foremost musical icon to the stage on Thursday 25 June and features a host of timeless Cash hits including Ring of Fire and Walk the Line as well as the Johnny and June duets Jackson, Long Legged Guitar Pickin’ Man and more.
This will be followed by a visit from Killer Queen on Friday 26 June in a show that combines extraordinary energy, expert musicianship and a stunning accuracy which has rightfully earned the band the title of Queen tribute royalty.
Recreating the original sound of one of the most iconic and memorable super groups of all time, Roy Orbison and The Travelling Wilbury’s visit the Belgrade on Saturday 26 June. Featuring six talented singers and musicians, this entertaining concert show is a must for any music fan.
