Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company are working hard on their next production, The Buddy Holly Story. This lively story tells of the meteoric rise to fame of Buddy Holly from local boy to top selling recording artist. A tragically short story that takes the audience through his early years, to fame recognition and his tragic death at the age of just 23.
Packed full of well know classics from Buddy Holly and the Crickets, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens, such as Peggy Sue, That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Everyday, Rave On, Heartbeat, Johnny Be Good, Chantilly Lace and La Bamba, there is something for everyone.
Local Lichfield lad Dan Anketell takes on the title role, and both he and the three Crickets play their own instruments on stage. With a strong supporting cast of over 50 people, this show promises to take you on a fun filled 2 hours of live music and stunning dance numbers, a toe-tapping and exciting trip down memory lane.
The Buddy Holly Story will be on at the Lichfield Garrick from 2 to 6 June. Tickets from £15 (£10 for children under 16) are available by clicking here or calling the Lichfield Garrick box office on 01543 412 121.
