Following such successes as Peter Pan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the worldwide amateur premier of Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem, SSA Drama Section invites you to auditions for their sensational summer season. The Solihull-based group are putting on two of the most influential and best-loved plays in British Theatre:
The Importance of Being Earnest
By Oscar Wilde
Directed by Bethany Hughes
This sensationally witty piece tells the story of confusion, love and double identity as Jack Worthing’s alter ego is stolen by his irreverent friend Algernon Moncrieff.
Waiting for Godot
By Samuel Beckett
Directed by Thom Faulkner
An infamous absurdist play in which two men wait for the arrival of a man named Godot; during which time they quarrel, contemplate suicide and gnaw on some chicken bones
Joint auditions will be held on Wednesday 3 and Friday 5 of June at The Edge Theatre, Alderbrook School at 7.30pm (see map below). Performances are mid-August. You are not required to prepare anything just bring yourselves.
For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or if you are unable to attend audition dates, but still have an interest in the plays, make sure to let the group know.
